The HCBS AIM Team, an Advocacy Peer Group, was created to bring people together who are passionate about Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) and committed to helping others understand what quality person-centered services truly look like. This group is made up of advocates who believe that individuals receiving services, families, providers, and community partners all play a vital role in shaping inclusive, meaningful lives in the community.
Through collaboration, shared experiences, and practical guidance, the AIM Team focuses on breaking down HCBS requirements in a clear and approachable way. We aim to turn complex regulations into useful knowledge—so more people feel confident advocating for choice, independence, dignity, and community belonging.
To keep these conversations going, the AIM Team will be publishing monthly blog posts highlighting key HCBS topics. These posts will explore areas such as person-centered planning, rights and responsibilities, community integration, provider best practices, and how individuals and families can become stronger advocates within their own systems from the perspective of the people receiving these services.
We invite you to follow along, read the monthly updates, and tune in to the Youtube page as we continue to learn from one another and strengthen advocacy across our communities. Together, we can build understanding, elevate voices, and ensure HCBS remains focused on what matters most—the people it serves.
Stay connected, and check back soon for our first monthly feature!
